Join to apply for the Commis Chef (Full Time) role at Mercure Hotels Company Description Mercure Gold Coast Resort A 292-room hotel, spanning over 3.5 hectares of manicured gardens with significant food & beverage operations, two resort pools, and extensive conference facilities, Mercure Gold Coast Resort is an oasis located amongst expansive gardens on the Gold Coast. This role will work predominantly breakfast shifts, servicing our buffet and la carte breakfast plus lunch service. Job Description WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: Preparing and serving food for our breakfast buffet, ensuring freshness and quality are front of mind. Contributing ideas to keep the offering varied and exciting for our guests. Prepare mise en place as required. Ensure consistent high-quality food production in line with the Resort standards. Ensure strict stock rotation, minimize wastage, and assist with ordering necessary food items. Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of all working areas and equipment. Qualifications YOUR EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS INCLUDE: Trade qualified (minimum Certificate III Commercial Cookery). Previous experience in a commercial kitchen preferred, with understanding of food safety requirements. A genuine passion for food with high standards of production and presentation. Ability to maintain food safety standards. Excellent communication skills and high grooming standards. Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure. Flexibility to work a 7-day roster, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and public holidays. Reliable, with a positive attitude towards early morning starts.
