The school plays an important role in the community by providing young people in detention with opportunities to gain knowledge, skills, and values that enhance their capacity to pursue positive choices in the future.BYETC offers a supportive learning environment with a focus on improving literacy, numeracy, vocational and personal skills. BYETC operates in a multi-agency environment and teachers are support by staff from a range of other government departments especially Youth Justice and Queensland Health personnel.Reporting to the mathematics Head of Department the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality and compliant training that results in successful student outcomes. Pre-service/graduate teachers must have been granted provisional registration prior to commencing employment as a teacher.
