IP9.Schedule: 45 Hours per week - Hours vary 5 over 7 days per week, including evenings and weekends.About The RoleBased at a sailing club which is very busy during the Summer months, but then open only for weekends during low-season (and closed Christmas day). Cooking lunches, making baked counter items, hot dishes for both lunch and evening, and catering for in-house and external events. Must be able to work well under pressure, be efficient and keep their workstation clean and tidy.The right person will work alongside the head chef, however, will need to work autonomously and oversee the kitchen day-to-day. Will be required to support the head chef in food preparation for outside events, as well as with menu development and any hygiene matters. They will need someone who can be independent on food service months and must be a team player.Responsibilities IncludePrepare and cook food items according to recipes and quality standardsAdhere to all food safety and sanitation regulationsAssist in the development and execution of menu itemsEnsure all food products are properly stored, rotated, and labelledMaintain a clean and organized work areaCollaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operationsAssist in training and supervising kitchen staffMonitor food production to ensure consistency and qualityFollow all company policies and proceduresCandidate RequirementsPrevious experience in a culinary role, preferably as a Line CookStrong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipmentAbility to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detailExcellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectivelyDemonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work well within a teamProficient in food safety and sanitation practicesStrong knowledge of food production techniques and recipe executionAbility to help develop new menu items and contribute to menu planningExperience supervising kitchen staff and managing a teamCompany BenefitsCompany pensionDiscounted or free foodEmployee discountFree parkingOn-site parkingReferral programmeSick payThe company offer competitive pay rates, opportunities for career advancement, and a positive work environment.
