The perioperative department also treats existing inpatients who require surgery, and those who are having day stay surgery with the aim to be discharged in the same day.It''s an exciting time to join the RCH surgical team and the role will be well supported by other managers. Hub of the medical precinct & leading Children''s Hospital Fabulous employee benefits including salary packaging and onsite parkingThe Role:We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager to join RCH as the Manager of the Anaesthetic Assistant TeamThe manager of this team is responsible to lead, manage and develop a collaborative, agile and resilient team of competent Paediatric Anaesthesia Assistants, consisting of technologists and nurses. The manager will ensure that clinical practice and delivery of care provided by staff is consistent with RCH standards, Australian Anaesthesia Allied Health Practitioners Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics, or the Australian Nurses and Midwifery Council Standards and in adherence with ANZCA PS-08To be successful in this role you will have:Diploma of Paramedical Science (Anaesthesia) HLT50607 or equivalent (eg: Diploma of Applied Science Anaesthetics NZ/City & Guilds 752/NVQ Level III in Operating Department Practice)Minimum 5 years experience as an Anaesthesia AssistantEligibility for registration with Australian Anaesthesia Allied Health Practitioners (AAAHP)Post-grad Management qualification or willingness to work towards (Desirable)Evidence of on-going professional developmentPrevious experience in paediatricsWell-developed management and leadership skillsStrong interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbalDemonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and autonomouslyEffective time management and organisational skillsAbility to work well under pressure and be flexible to changing priorities and environment.Tertiary qualification in Business Management or relevant area (desirable)If this sounds like you, clickhere to view the position description.Why work at the RCH?RCH enjoys high employee engagement and is committed to staff safety and a positive culture through enactment of our Compact.
