We want to engage and empower our diverse, global team to co-create value with our customers through our solutions in contract logistics and air, ocean, ground, and finished vehicle transport.YOUR ROLEAs the Operations Manager for our Finished Vehicle Logistics facility at Townsville (Mt St John) QLD, youll lead the day-to-day activities of a dedicated team of yardpersons and contractors who provide an essential service in the transportation, storage, customisation and preparation of customer vehicles.WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?Specifically, you will:Manage the operational activities, processes and systems within the branch to ensure CEVAS compliance with customer contractual obligations and nominated service standardsCoach and develop your team to ensure the highest levels of safety, compliance, accuracy, productivity, performance and continuous improvementReview regular performance reports, focussing on actions to improve cost/vehicle, utilisation and empty runningCoordinate vehicle and equipment maintenance and control, including the ongoing reporting and proactive management of vehicle and equipment maintenanceEnsure timely completion of transit damage non-conformance reporting and drive improvement and remedy to root causeLiaise with customers, either directly or through direct reports, ensuring customer service expectations are being met through continuous feedback mechanismsSupport risk management, quality and SCA activities in order to achieve legislative and/or CEVA standards.WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?Our ideal candidate has experience in supervising operations within the transport industry, together with:Applied understanding of Chain of Responsibility, planning and allocation / manifestingKnowledge of metro and regional areas within the Far Northern QLD and major road networks in Australia (latter a bonus)Experience and/or capability to coach, develop and engage an operational teamGood written and verbal communication, customer service / management, and influencing / negotiation skillsSound troubleshooting / problem solving capability, commercial acumen and numeracy skillsBasic-intermediate experience in MS Office applications, and capable of learning new systems, software and technologiesValid Australian manual driver licence.In addition to providing proof of work rights and suitable professional referees, progressed candidates will be required to undergo a medical assessment and national police check.WHAT DO WE HAVE TO OFFER?In addition to a challenging and rewarding work environment and competitive compensation, we are proud to offer a range of employee benefits designed to support your wellbeing, and help you thrive at work and in life.Personal wellbeing: prioritise your health and wellbeing through the CEVAwell program, Employee Assistance Program, Volunteer Time Off, and Life & Total Permanent Disability Insurance.Work-life balance: benefit from flexible, hybrid, and remote work options, along with additional paid parental leave for primary carers.Professional development: your growth is essential to us.
