This is a progressional position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the lower classification with eligibility for progression to the next, once specific criteria have been met or demonstrated. Because it is situated on a transport corridor, it is easily accessible by car, bus or train from any part of Brisbane and the northern regions as far as Caboolture.Kedron State High School is:*6km from the Brisbane City Centre*10 minutes walk from Wooloowin Railway Station*10 minutes walk from Eagle Junction Railway StationYour Opportunity:As the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities, you will help ensure the school runs smoothly by maintaining a high standard of grounds and facilities.Reporting to the Principal, Business Manager, or their delegate, you will follow set instructions and carry out routine tasks independently, with supervision provided for non-routine duties.Please note: this role does not involve tasks requiring a qualified tradesperson.About the Role:* Support day-to-day school operations including mail delivery, photocopying, setting up rooms and halls, relocating furniture, and managing school supplies and stock registers.* Assist with school security such as locking/unlocking buildings, using security systems, and transporting school funds for banking.* Perform general maintenance duties including waste collection, cleaning of drains/gutters, and preparing for school events (e.g. fetes, plays, sporting events).* Maintain a safe and compliant work environment, including safe storage of chemicals and upkeep of tools and equipment.* Undertake basic repairs and maintenance across the school, including furniture, equipment, pools, and facilities.* Maintain grounds and gardens, including mowing, weeding, planting, and care of sporting facilities.* Liaise with staff, students, and tradespeople regarding maintenance needs and lost property.* Support agricultural programs in the field laboratory (if no agricultural assistant is employed).For more information, please see the work profile included in the Role Description attached.Interested?
