Direct reports: Cultural Lead and two Project Leads.TLaWCThe Taungurung Land and Waters Council (TLaWC) acts as the voice of the Taungurung people a people with a strong sense of shared identity, self-determining in the management of Country and culture.As a Registered Aboriginal Party, TLaWC upholds the interests of the Taungurung people with emphasis on economic, social and cultural well-being.TLaWCs focus is to preserve the past, protect the present and strengthen the future of the Taungurung Nation, which occupies a large part of Central Victoria.Advocacy and Enablement DepartmentThis role sits within the Advocacy and Enablement Department, which is made up of five (5) multidisciplinary teams within Taungurung Land and Waters Council (TLaWC): Advocacy andEngagement, People and Workplace Culture, Partnerships and Agreements, Finance Services, and wawa biik Cultural Experiences.The Advocacy and Enablement Department is an integral cog in the entire operations of TLaWC, driving core business functions and the strategic corporate and community priorities as set out in the TLaWC Strategic Plan2021-2025 .Advocacy and Engagement TeamThe Advocacy and Engagement Team supports the revitalisation of cultural practice in the Taungurung Community and takes guidance from community on project and program priorities.The team is responsible for the development and delivery of community programs, events and activities as well as the convening of community advisory groups including language and Elders Advisory groups and the administration of TLaWC community benefit programs.Primary FunctionThe Manager - Community Engagement is responsible for developing and managing a range of community projects, programs and engagement activities that directly benefit Taungurung people and contribute to their social, cultural, and emotional well-being.
