It is home to Australias largest First Nations population who reside in urban, remote and very remote communities.The Department is well supported with Training and Unaccredited Registrars, International Graduates and three Clinical Nurse ConsultantsAs an ENT Specialist Clinician, your primary objective is to provide specialist Ear, Nose and Throat service to the Royal Darwin Hospital, Regional hospitals and First Nations communities; contribute to post graduate education, including the supervision of trainees, Junior Medical and Nursing staff as well as teaching of medical students.Your key duties will include conducting regular inpatient ward rounds, outpatient clinics and theatre sessions, incorporating teaching, and providing specialist opinion to referring medical practitioners.This involves providing specialist care and advice on the management of patients with ENT conditions and directing / supervising / evaluating the work of subordinate medical staff in the provision of patient care.In addition, you will be required to participate in emergency after hours care on a roster basis, liaise with other medical, paramedical and nursing staff and contribute to workplace improvements within the ENT Department.To be successful you require a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons or equivalent if an international Medical Graduate (IMG), have demonstrated training and expertise in providing specialist ENT services, and a commitment to participate in continuous medical education including undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, professional development, peer review, research, teaching, quality improvement activities and clinical audits as appropriate.An interest in improving Indigenous health and Otology will be well received.If you reside interstate, Royal Darwin Hospital is a great place to work and progress professionally whilst experiencing the uniqueness of living and working in the Top End of Australia.
