Add expected salary to your profile for insightsAbout the roleWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Qualified Welder/Fabricator/Fitter to join our team at Plastec Australia in Caloundra, Queensland. This full-time role will involve utilising your expertise in welding, fabricating and fitting to contribute to the success of our dynamic organisation.What you''ll be doingPerform a variety of welding, fabrication and fitting tasks for production tooling and plant infrastructure to a high standardRead and interpret technical drawings, specifications and work orders to complete projects on time and to specificationSupport the maintenance and servicing of injection moulding machines (160T to 5500T) and ancillary equipment (such as material handling systems, dryers, chillers, robots, conveyors)Collaborate with the production and development teams to conduct regular inspections, troubleshoot issues and identify opportunities to maximise process improvement across multiple departmentsPlay a key role in setting up and maintaining new plant systems and equipmentMaintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring tools and equipment are well-maintainedAdhere to all health, safety and environmental policies and proceduresWhat we''re looking forFormal trade qualifications in welding, fabrication and/or fitting, with 3+ years'' relevant experienceStrong mechanical aptitude and understanding of pneumatics and hydraulicsExperience maintaining injection moulding or other manufacturing machinery is desirable but not essentialCommitment to quality workmanship and safetyEffective communication and teamwork skillsAbility to work independently and prioritise tasks across multiple locationsWhat we offerCompetitive remuneration based on experienceRoom for growth and responsibilityThe successful applicant will receive training in plastic welding, which will play an integral part in the development of Plastec''s new product rangeEnjoy a diverse workday in this hands-on role, no two days are the sameBrand new, purpose-built facilityAbout usPlastec Australia is a leading manufacturer and supplier of high-quality plastic products for the plumbing and construction industries.
