Our dedication to safety and reputation for quality and innovation help our customers reach beyond what they thought possible.Role SummaryWe are seeking a results-driven and proactive Commercial Operations Manager to take charge of our proposal development and bid strategy on a 12-month maximum term contract. In this dynamic role, the successful candidate will lead the coordination of internal stakeholders, shape compelling client submissions, and ensure each opportunity is positioned for success.How Youll Make a Difference:Drive proposal and bid developmentCoordinate internal contributions and insightsShape winning themes and value propositionsManage timelines, details, and resultsJoin a team where your commercial insight and leadership shape the future of our success.All you have to do is get on board.Key ResponsibilitiesThe Commercial Operations Manager candidate will need to demonstrate the following competencies to execute the job responsibilities:Champion safety by promoting a strong safety culture, challenging unsafe behaviors, and supporting global and regional safety initiatives.Develop highly effective and productive relationships with key stakeholders both internally (at a global, regional and in country level and particularly with the regional management team) and externally (customers, Original Equipment Manufacturers, regulators, and industry contacts.Lead and support cross-functional collaboration across sales, marketing, legal, operations, and finance to deliver accurate and timely proposals and business content.Oversee end-to-end bid and proposal processes including writing, editing, compliance checks, and timely submission of high-quality documents.Negotiate and communicate NDA and RFP terms with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment to legal, commercial and all other related Company policiesMaintain Salesforce CRM and manage contract lifecycle, ensuring proper documentation, updates, and implementation across departments.Lead the proposal creating process including pipeline reporting, bid governance, opportunity reviews, and approvals.Monitor industry trends and conduct analysis to support strategic decisions and develop innovative, client-focused solutions.Assume ownership for development of focused proposal language relating to client expectations, including original writing of executive summaries and other critical componentsResponsible for the administration of assigned customer contracts, including distributing awarded contracts, overseeing implementation post kick-off, maintaining accurate records in Salesforce, disseminating key information internally, coordinating contract amendments through commercial review, and preparing customer proposals in alignment with company policies and legal requirements.Willing to take on additional tasks and travel interstate or overseas as needed to support commercial operations and business growth.Qualifications, Skills & AttributesBachelors degree in accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, management, marketing, or a related field.Skills / Experience:Minimum 5 years experience in technical bid writing, ideally within the Defence or similar sector.Proven ability to develop clear, concise documentation with strong technical writing and communication skills.Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office particularly with Word, Excel and Power Point, desktop publishing, and other on-line documentation software.Strong understanding of contracts, including contractual terms and conditions.Excellent project and time management skills; able to work independently, manage competing deadlines, and lead effectively.Attributes / Behaviours:Fosters a collaborative, team-oriented attitude.Focus on results in a professional, ethical, and responsible manner when dealing with customers, vendors, team members, and others.Communicate effectively with others with clarity and transparency.Well versed in public speaking or delivering oral presentations.Demonstrate a record of success in the preparation of bids in a service-based environmentUses innovative critical and creative thinking to evaluate and solve work and customer issues.Seeks assistance in solving work problems through collaboration and information seeking.Ability to work in a demanding, deadline-driven environment.Accepts being accountable and responsible in work practices and expectations.
