The cluster includes Tieri State School, Capella State School and Capella State High School, schools that work collaboratively to meet the diverse learning needs of students across the region. Teaching aligns with the Australian Curriculum and fosters resilience, empathy, and high expectations to ensure every student succeeds through meaningful engagement.About The RoleAs Head of Special Education Services for the Southern Coalfields Cluster, you will play a key role in supporting Tieri State School, Capella State School and Capella State High School to meet the diverse learning needs of their students. As Head of Special Education Services, you will provide expert advice to principals, middle leaders, teachers and teacher aides on supporting students with disabilities, while building staff capability through hands-on classroom modelling and professional development. As Head of Special Education Services, you will lead the development of clear processes and policies to ensure consistent, effective support practices across the three schools. As Head of Special Education Services, you will work across the cluster each week, spending two days at Capella State High School, two days at Capella State School and one day at Tieri State School, providing tailored guidance and leadership to each school community.Your ResponsibilitiesAs the Head of Special Education Services, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Manage and coordinate the delivery of high-quality advice and support provided by the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program.Lead and manage the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program to provide advice to classroom teachers for students with disability as needed.Provide high quality advice to the school leadership team, classroom teachers and other school staff to develop, plan and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disability.Please refer to the attached role description for the full list of responsibilities and mandatory requirements for this position.Interested?
