As a Recreation Support Coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating community-based group activities that provide opportunities for participants to improve their physical health, social connection, and build their confidence, independence, and quality of life.The role requires experience in both community services and facilitating recreation activities.Our participants will include people who identify as having mental health challenges and/or challenges with alcohol and other drugs.The role is primarily based in Fremantle but covers other metro areas. It involves delivering activities that are designed to help our participants progress their personal recovery journeys think walking groups, cycling, cooking, yoga, gym, swimming, arts and crafts, coffee club, ten pin bowling!Were looking for someone who has experience in community service delivery, recreation facilitation and program development. Confidence and personal leadership are a necessity, working alongside our participants, their families, and various stakeholders.This is a full-time permanent position working 38 hours per week between Monday to Friday.What were looking forThe successful applicants will be required to meet the following criteria: Personal goal planning skills that contribute to the achievement of client goals in line with the Model of Care. Skills in reflective practice and highly developed report writing using analytical reasoning. Advanced computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office and client reporting system. Ability to engage and maintain professional relationships with clients, and their wider formal and informal supports, with multiple needs and challenges. Demonstrated understanding of complex issues facing people who experience chaotic life circumstances such as homelessness, AOD use, family/domestic violence and mental health issues. Willingness and ability to work within and contribute to the vision, mission, core values and the guiding principles of the organisation. Ability to mentor and support staff members, as well as the ability to work independently.
