Join to apply for the Pharmacist Student role at West Moreton Hospital and Health Service14 hours ago Be among the first 25 applicantsJoin to apply for the Pharmacist Student role at West Moreton Hospital and Health ServiceGet AI-powered advice on this job and more exclusive features.About The RoleWith relevant supervision, the Pharmacist Student will deliver clinical services within the agreed scope of the role and experience as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team, to stakeholders/customers of Queensland Health.About The RoleWith relevant supervision, the Pharmacist Student will deliver clinical services within the agreed scope of the role and experience as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team, to stakeholders/customers of Queensland Health.Some Of The Key Responsibilities Of The Role AreDemonstrates a narrow level of knowledge and skill with the ability to undertake tasks in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards, including but not limited to dispensing prescriptions, supplying schedule 8 medicines, maintaining ward imprests and obtaining patient medication details under the guidance of a more experienced Pharmacist.Work within scope that is consistent with the level of knowledge and skill development.Demonstrates continuing work toward completion of prerequisite requirements in a University Degree in Pharmacy.Maintain appropriate documentation and patient records in line with Departmental, Unit and Health Service procedures, and contribute to the maintenance of accurate and timely information systems.Communicate effectively with patients or carers and other health professionals under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist.Develop and build clinical competency by actively participating in assessment and feedback processes.Actively contribute to maintaining a safe workplace that values the health and safety of co-workers, clients, and visitors.About YouOur ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:Demonstrates honesty, integrity and respect for all patients, carers and staff. Demonstrates excellent communication skills to facilitate service provision and development within legal frameworks.Base knowledge, expertise and skills in contemporary clinical pharmacy practice and knowledge of hospital pharmacy service delivery and medication management, including medicines knowledge, therapeutic uses, and medicines scheduling. Understanding of the requirements for the storage and handling of pharmaceuticals.Ability to apply effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills when communicating with clients/carers and other service providers to facilitate effective service provision.Ability to proactively contribute to team objectives within the pharmacy as well as the broader multidisciplinary team.Ability to work to a high standard, while under direct supervision and within scope of legal authorities, and, demonstrated skills in self-organisation and initiative to enable the timely completion of a variety of tasks allowing efficient service function.Mandatory RequirementsVaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16About West Moreton HealthWest Moreton Health is one of the most rapidly evolving health services in the south east corner, with a community growth expected to almost double to more than 588,000 by 2036.
