Assistant Event Services Manager-National Convention CentreHotel Brand: Crowne Plaza Hotels & ResortsLocation: Australia, Australian Capital Territory, CanberraAt the National Convention Centre Canberra (NCCC), we bring events to life from creative gala dinners to large-scale, multi-day conferences complete with exceptional catering. Were currently seeking an Assistant Event Services Manager to support the delivery of these memorable experiences. In this hands-on role, youll work closely with the Event Services Manager to ensure smooth operations, outstanding client service, and a high-performing team culture.Every day is different, but youll mostly be:Assisting in the operational management of events, ensuring seamless planning and delivery of serviceSupporting day-to-day operations across banquet floors, facilities, and stores in line with safety and operational standards (Fire Life Safety, HACCP, OHS&W, Security)Helping to manage IHG systems and programs including MICROS, ESCAP, E-tivity, Purchase Plus and DelphiAssisting in car park management at the NCCCCoordinating wage, beverage, linen, and operating supply costs within budgetEnsuring all function spaces, public and back-of-house areas are presented to a high standardCollaborating with departments including Kitchen, Stores, Facilities, Engineering, Finance, Sales & Marketing, and Events to ensure seamless event executionAssisting in the recruitment, onboarding and training of the Event Services teamCommunicating safety information to team members, promoting a safe work environmentWhat Were Looking For:Previous leadership or supervisory experience in large-scale events or food & beverage operationsStrong knowledge of operational and safety compliance (HACCP, WHS, Fire Life Safety)Working knowledge of IHG systems and event booking software (MICROS, Delphi, ESCAP, E-tivity, Purchase Plus)Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to liaise across multiple departmentsA guest-focused mindset with a passion for service and event deliveryStrong organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environmentFull working rights for AustraliaYou''ll be rewarded for your hard work with a suite of benefits that supports you and your family''s wellbeing, including:Hotel Perks like accommodation and Food & Beverage discountsEnhanced parental leaveProactive health days and flexible work optionsYour career journey will be supported through our lifelong development programIHG Career Milestone celebrationsTransfer of entitlements as you move and grow with IHGAccess to our discount retail platform that makes your pay go even furtherOur mission is to welcome everyone and create inclusive teams where we celebrate difference and encourage colleagues to bring their whole selves to work.
