Were on a mission to push the boundary in whats possible in an otherwise traditional industry.Research and Development as a team explores the future of Sleeping Duck - what new products, concepts and areas the business will venture into.Whats the role all about?This brand new position has been created to research existing scientific literature and organise internal product testing to deliver practical insights for the Product and Design team as related to the design vision and brief.Full time position12 month fixed-term with the possibility of extension and/or permanencyA mix of WFH and from our amazing HQ in PrahranYour main focus areas will be:Coordinating feasibility studies and internal testing of concepts or prototypesAssessing the outcomes of the testing and their performanceGathering insights from a deep study of existing literatureManaging all practical logistics relating to testing protocols - including subject recruitment, screening, scheduling, test setup, test environment and equipment management.Performing quality assurance on all collected data to ensure completeness and accuracy of informationDelivering outcomes and insights to the team in easy to digest formatsDue to the nature of the testing phases, you will be required to be on call and available including in the evening (5-9pm) and weekends via email/phone to resolve any test subject issues.Knowledge, skills, attributes & experienceBachelors degree or above in Exercise Science or Kinesiology, Human Physiology/Biology, Biomedical Engineering or related field1+ years of human research experience, running studies themselvesBonus if experience working with wearable devices, medical devices or technology that measures/monitors human physiology.Existing knowledge in sleep science, sleep performance and human physiology a bonusAble to analyse data but willing to get hands dirty, figure out practical fixes to real world physical problems as they ariseSuperior organisational skills, high attention to detailExcellent interpretation of large data setsAbility to quickly adapt work as according to the changing needs of the businessClear communication skills - able to present to a large groupProficient in Google/Microsoft office - excellent in data management - excel/google sheets as a minimum, data coding experience is a bonus (SQL/Python etc)Must own a car to visit subjects housesAble to lift mattresses to change cover and place things above/underneath, construct heavy bedsLife @ Sleeping DuckAn opportunity to be part of our evolving story and join an innovative and fast growing Melbourne born startupThe team is really passionate about what they do, they have an open-minded, forward-thinking and inclusive cultureAmazing employee benefits, wellness days, events, and generous leave entitlementsTo really live the SD life we will gift you a mattress to take home after your successful 6 months probation with generous discounts for family and friends #J-18808-Ljbffr
