It is a very busy caf serving breakfast and lunch 7 days a week with a patisserie producing over a hundred varieties of pastries and cakes on a daily basis.TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIESThe Pastry Chef plays an important role in our busy pastry kitchen operations as they work with the Head Pastry Chef in the daily preparation, baking & decorating of high quality cakes & pastries. A Pastry Chef will also:o Dutifully prepare ingredients before and after baking to meet The Hatter and the Hare standards.o Make sure that everything in the pastry kitchen is in order from preparation up to keeping the pastry kitchen in a clean and orderly state.o Make & decorate cakes & pastries according to the recipes prepared by the Head Pastry Chef, following all steps and procedures to the letter in order to keep the high quality of cakes & pastries sold to customers.o Train junior team members.SKILLS & EXPERIENCEWe are looking for candidates who possess the following skills and experience:o Certificate IV or higher in Patisserie or equivalent experience.o 1-3 years of experience working in a fast-paced environment.o A passion for producing consistent high quality cakes & other baked productso Excellent knowledge and experience in basic baking techniques and styles and the use of commercial kitchen equipment and toolso A strong background in utilising high quality ingredientso A knowledge of all food safety standardso A professional attitude in the pastry kitchen at all timeso The ability to follow instructionso A love and passion for making and creating marvelous baked treatso The ability to persevere and succeed in a fast-paced environmento A keen eye for detailo A team playero A desire to succeed in a progressive career in the food and hospitality industryo Have the proper permits to work in Australia The Hatter and the Hare is committed to work with our staff to reach their career goals, if this is what you''re after, we will be more than happy to welcome you to the team!Experience:1-3 years previous experience in a similar role/industryJob Type: Full-timeBenefits:Employee discountSchedule:8 hour shiftSupplemental pay types:Overtime payPenalty rates #J-18808-Ljbffr
