The Heavy Diesel Mechanic will work closely with the Process Team and Maintenance Team to prioritise mechanical maintenance activities including Preventative and Ad hoc tasks to achieve maintenance targets and ensure statutory compliance and production continuity.As construction progresses at Mardie, we are continuing to shape our team. Working closely with the Maintenance Supervisor, you will prioritise maintenance activities to minimise production disruptions and assist with planning, scheduling, and resource allocation, with a focus on the weekly maintenance plan. You will also be responsible for effective cost management, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives with potential cost or production benefits.Your role includes ensuring accurate data entry into the process plant reporting system to track downtime and safety, complying with the WA Mines Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations, and upholding your Duty of Care responsibilities.Stakeholder engagement is a key component of this role. Your performance directly impacts production teams, maintenance efficiency, and overall operational effectiveness. The successful candidate will need advanced knowledge of best practices in maintenance and equipment applications, while considering the broader influence of safety policies, operational demands, and management decisions.About You:We are seeking a qualified HD Mechanic with a minimum of three years post-trade experience, ideally within the mining industry and with exposure to fixed plant operations. The successful candidate will bring strong knowledge of asset management practices and preventative maintenance schedules, along with proficiency in using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems such as Pronto. Confidence with computer systems, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and OneNote, is essential. Experience in salt processing is highly desirable.You will hold current competencies in Confined Space Entry and Working at Heights, with additional training in First Aid and Low Voltage Rescue considered advantageous.
