A world that caters for growing populations and keeps up with rapid technological change; a world that is resilient to economic and geophysical setbacks; a world powered by cleaner energy and systems that accelerate the path to global decarbonization; a world connected by smart and affordable transport networks to empower disenfranchised communities and unlock access to opportunities.Job SummaryTo coordinate and lead the delivery of the agreed infrastructure sustainability (IS) rating and ensure that the project commitments are being adhered and managed by relevant stakeholders to a high standard.Major ResponsibilitiesIS Rating Delivery:Oversee IS Design and As Built rating delivery by consultants and contractors, proactively identifying and addressing risks. This include:Review regular sustainability reports and monitoring and reviewing evidence collection and submission packages by consultants and contractors.Coordinate across multiple construction work packages to enable consistency and delivery of multiple As Built Ratings.Ensure that the documentation produced by consultants and contractors are in line with IS rating expectations.Provide leadership in respect to sustainability matters on the project, ensuring coordinated delivery of IS rating outcomes.Integration And CoordinationCoordinate and lead the projects key sustainability deliverables using the IS Rating framework and effectively manage the sustainability rating across the delivery packages. This include:Act as the internal interface between the customer and external sustainability consultants and contractors for the IS Design and As Built Rating.Facilitate collaboration between contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to align project actions with rating requirements.Liaison with Environmental and Heritage Team to ensure compliance with customers sustainability commitments and targets.Sustainability AssuranceWork with relevant stakeholders to ensure that sustainability targets are being met. This include:Monitor consultant and contractor actions to ensure sustainability compliance and assurance.Work with Project team and Procurement teams to embed required sustainability targets and rating requirements into contract documentation.Education And Experience RequirementsBachelor of Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or Sustainability ManagementA minimum of 5 years experience working at a Sustainability Officer / Coordination / Advisory level role within the design and/or construction Industry, ideally with experience on large-scale infrastructure projectsRequired Knowledge And SkillsSound understanding of sustainability principles within the design and construction industry including proficiency at measuring, analysing and communicating sustainability performanceDemonstrated application of IS rating scheme and standards on projects.Preferable accreditations: Infrastructure Sustainability Accredited Professional (ISAP) and/or Green Star Accredited Professional (GSAP).Experience in managing the relevant incorporated sustainability initiatives for infrastructure projects including on the ground management of IS related Environmental creditsTotal Rewards/BenefitsFor decades, Bechtel has worked to inspire the next generation of employees and beyond!
