We remain steadfast in our commitment to promoting the economic, political, and social inclusion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.About the roleAs a Team Leader for our Early Years Centre, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team of early childhood professionals including social workers and early childhood educators, who provide supported Playgroups, family and targeted support and early childhood education to families with children under 8 years of age.Our services focus onearly intervention and prevention to ultimately empower children and families.You will work as part of strong and collaborative leadership team of 2 team leaders supportingCairns and Gordonvale Early Years Centres, with various opportunities to be autonomous and lead on projects which meet funding outcomes. Our team is a supportive, strength based multidisciplinary team with a broad range of early childhood teachers and educators, social workers, child health nurses, midwives and allied health qualified professionals committed to high quality work providing wrap around early intervention services.We support people to live their best life. This means youll have:A degree/qualification in Social Work, Human services or social welfare or other relevant field.Demonstrated experience in coaching and leadership with an approachable, transparent and responsive style in building positive team culture.Comprehensive management skills including troubleshooting, managing multiple deadlines and conflict resolution.Sound understanding of the principles of integrated service delivery and an ability to undertake a leadership role with multi disciplines of teams.Excellent understanding of child protection issues and client vulnerabilities and risk indicators such as drug and alcohol use, domestic and family violence, mental health issues, and the impact of trauma on child behaviour and development.Experience working in collaborative, cross functional way with teams, peers and stakeholders to achieve outcomes.If you identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, then we want to hear from you.
