You will prepare discipline estimates and work plans and review and approve environmental engineering investigations and studies. Your leadership will drive successful implementation of recommendations to improve the environmental impact of engineering projects.Major Responsibilities:Plans, develops, directs, and participates in the day-to-day Environmental Engineeringactivity on small to medium sized projects or a portion of a major project with minimal tomoderate complexity within a global business unit utilizing relevant EngineeringDepartment Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel StandardApplication Programs (BSAPs)Supervises, coordinates, and reviews the work of personnel assigned, estimatesstaffing needs and schedules and assigns work accordinglyProvides the technical input to meet procurement requirementsPrepares or oversees the preparation of Environmental Engineering discipline estimates and work plans inaccordance with project scope, schedule, and budget, and manages implementationand performance accordinglyReviews and makes recommendations of the Environmental Engineering aspects of bidevaluations and awards for approval by project engineeringWhen directed, coordinates with client representatives to obtain their approval ofEnvironmental Engineering aspects of the workReviews and approves key calculations, licensing evaluations, design documents,supplier drawings and data, material specifications, drawings, and change orders, forthe project to which assignedEnsures that assigned Environmental Engineering personnel receive appropriate on-the-jobtraining for their professional developmentAssists in the preparation and reviews of project procedures and cost estimates forproposals, forecasts, and change ordersEducation and Experience Requirements:Requires bachelor''s degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experienceRequired Knowledge and Skills:Knowledge of Standards and Regulations: The engineer must comply with current environmental and permitting legislation, as well as corporate policies, guidelines, and standards.Evaluation and Optimization Skills: During the first weeks of the project, the engineer is expected to participate in the development of trade-offs and evaluate different alternatives to optimize the project in terms of design, functionality, constructability, costs, safety, and sustainability.Experience in Bottleneck Improvement Projects: The engineer must have experience with projects that seek to improve resource recovery by implementing improvements to identified bottlenecks.Collaboration and Coordination Skills: It is crucial for the engineer to work collaboratively with specialized teams in processes, engineering, construction, and operations to evaluate different alternatives and optimize the project.Experience in Mining Projects: Previous experience with mining projects, especially in the definition and execution phases, is highly valued.For decades, Bechtel has worked to inspire the next generation of employees and beyond!
