This involves the collation and quality assurance of data from the many fields that utilise geographic information systems. In undertaking these tasks the position is required to apply highly developed spatial skills and knowledge of diverse GIS datasets.As a subject matter expert regarding spatial data solutions and advice, the Spatial Scientist provides technical leadership and business domain knowledge to support the effective development and operation of geospatial applications. These responsibilities include support for the modernisation of legacy foundation spatial data maintenance systems. The role will also support strategic collaboration initiatives with key stakeholders to evaluate emerging technologies and build knowledge and capability within Spatial Services.The ideal candidate will have:Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in spatial information managementExperience supporting complex geospatial projects and initiativesStrong communication and customer relation skillsThe ability to be flexible and adaptable to both a changing environment as well as prioritiesThe ability to solve problems and collaborate with others toward a common visionDemonstrated knowledge and understanding of current information technologies employed in capturing and managing spatial informationSpatial Scientist remote sensing -Bathurst onlyAs a Spatial Scientist - Remote Sensing you will work in a team environment to undertake a range of tasks related to the management and presentation of geographic and spatial information. This involves the collation and quality assurance of data from the many fields that utilise geographic information systems. In undertaking these tasks the position is required to apply highly developed spatial skills and knowledge of diverse GIS datasets.As a subject matter expert for the capture and processing of imagery and LiDAR data, the Spatial Scientist - Remote Sensing provides technical leadership and business domain knowledge to support day-to-day coordination with suppliers for aircraft operation, maintenance and flight planning. The role is also responsible for ensuring emergency, fee-for-service and BAU capture projects are delivered to agreed standards and supporting effective management utilisation of onpremises and cloud-based processing capabilities.The ideal candidate will have:Substantial knowledge of imagery and elevation data capture and processing technologyand its utilisation to meet required specificationsKnowledge of and demonstrated experience in spatial information managementStrong communication and customer relation skillsThe ability to be flexible and adaptable to both a changing environment as well as rioritiesThe ability to solve problems and collaborate with others toward a common visionDemonstrated knowledge and understanding of current information technologies employed in capturing and managing spatial information.Spatial Scientist Administrative -Bathurst OnlyAs a Spatial Scientist - Administrative you will work in a team environment to undertake a range of tasks related to the management and presentation of geographic and spatial information. This involves the collation and quality assurance of data from the many fields that utilise geographic information systems. In undertaking these tasks the position is required to apply highly developed spatial skills and knowledge of diverse GIS datasets.As a subject matter expert for address and topographic data maintenance, the Spatial Scientist - Administrative is provides technical leadership and business domain knowledge to support the sourcing, processing and standardising authoritative addressing, transport and/or features of interest data to maintain and upgrade the Geocoded Urban and Rural Addressing System (GURAS) and/or Digital Topographic Database (DTDB). This may include close coordination internal and external stakeholders, provision of customer support services plus technical expertise and capabilities to support the all-of government addressing program and enhanced data supply chains.The ideal candidate will have:Substantial knowledge of the address and/or topographic data supply chains and associated standards and policiesKnowledge of and demonstrated experience in spatial information managementStrong communication and customer relation skillsThe ability to be flexible and adaptable to both a changing environment as well as prioritiesThe ability to solve problems and collaborate with others toward a common visionDemonstrated knowledge and understanding of current information technologies employed in capturing and managing spatial informationSpatial Scientist Cadastre -Bathurst OnlyAbout the roleAs a Spatial Scientist - Cadastre you will work in a team environment to undertake a range of tasks related to the management and presentation of geographic and spatial information. This involves the collation and quality assurance of data from the many fields that utilise geographic information systems. In undertaking these tasks the position is required to apply highly developed spatial skills and knowledge of diverse GIS datasets.As a subject matter expert for maintaining the currency of the Digital Cadastral Database, the Spatial Scientist - Cadastre provides technical leadership and business domain knowledge to support the processing of new Deposited and Strata Plans registered by NSW Land Registry Services, remediation of identified errors in the DCDB, maintenance of administrative boundaries held in the DCDB and identifying and implementing updates to the DCDB based on information published in the NSW Government Gazette.The ideal candidate will have:Substantial knowledge of the NSW cadastral and land titling systems and processesKnowledge of and demonstrated experience in spatial information managementStrong communication and customer relation skillsThe ability to be flexible and adaptable to both a changing environment as well as prioritiesThe ability to solve problems and collaborate with others toward a common visionDemonstrated knowledge and understanding of current information technologies employed in capturing and managing spatial information.Salary Grade 7/8, with the base salary for this role starting at 113,574 base plus superannuationClick Here to access the Role Description .
