Annually, the RCH has 300,000+ Specialist Clinic appointments, 90,000+ Emergency Department presentations and 20,000 elective surgeries.The RCH is committed to the Child Safe Standards .RCH enjoys high employee engagement and is committed to staff safety and a positive culture through enactment of our Compact.For further Information on RCH is available here .About The RoleThis is a fixed term, full time parental leave replacement position until 30/6/2026, working 24/7 rotating shift and 9 days a fortnight within the RWH Core Laboratory. You will be responsible for performance of duties in all areas of our multi-disciplinary Core Laboratory (Haematology, Blood Bank, Biochemistry and Specimen Reception) to provide an efficient, caring and professional diagnostic service. You are required to participate in the 24/7 shift roster and on-call roster, and will also be required to work at The Royal Children''s Hospital.What Youll AchievePerform and report diagnostic laboratory tests following techinques and procedures documented in laboratory manuals and the Quality System Standard (ISO 15189-2013)Contribute to consistently meeting benchmark Turn Around Times (TAT) established for the laboratoryPerform maintenance and quality control testing of Haematology, Blood bank and Biochemistry equipmentClassification for this position will range from RX2 to RX7.Your Skills And ExperienceBachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or Bachelor of Science or equivalent is mandatory.
