This comprehensive role enhances the function of complementary perioperative team members.Your roleAs the Perioperative Flow Manager (PFM), you will be a versatile leader responsible for optimising patient flow, ensuring operational efficiency, and providing day-to-day operational direction for St John of God''s perioperative services. This comprehensive role enhances the function of complementary perioperative team members.At St John of God Murdoch Hospital, we have 18 main operating theatres, an angio suite, endoscopy unit and Surgicentre. You will be exposed to the latest in surgical technology, including robotics, and work with some of the highest calibre surgeons in Australia who are usually based onsite in our consulting suites.Our Clinical Command Centre is the hub that oils the theatre machine, with information feeding into and out of a central location to co-ordinate patient flow, equipment and available beds in recovery and on the wards. Our super-organised CCC Team know exactly where patients are up to on their theatre journey at all times.The PositionManage the Clinical Command Centre day-to-day operations, working collaboratively with the Coordinator/s, Nurse Unit Manager and Theatre Leadership Team for seamless coordination.Coordinates daily stand up meetings with all patient flow contributing roles, to identify issues and resolve potential problems in advance of them arising, and to actively manage resources including labour and equipment.Ensure efficient managing of the theatre scheduling and resource allocation for add-ons, urgent, and emergency procedures within agreed timeframes.Develop, maintain and support strategies and processes for optimising theatre utilisation and efficiency.Collaborate with CNMs/NUMS/DDON for effective workforce planning, staffing, and resource allocation.Demonstrate clinical and administrative leadership, fostering a high-performance team culture.Develop and maintain effective relationships with relevant internal and external professional groups to build and enhance patient delivery and service delivery on a divisional and group-wide basis.Maintain and update reporting frameworks, templates, and tools for data analysis, ensuring sufficient and efficient resource allocation.View and analyse real time data, contacting key stakeholders to provide direction where potential risk to patient flow has been identified.Accountable for the implementation and review of continuous improvement processes.Promote and maintain collaborative relationships with Medical Practitioners and key stakeholders, ensuring effective communication channels, working in partnership to optimise processes, list order etc. resolves issuesSupport NSQHS Standards delivery, promote a safe work environment, and meet budgetary goals (or other KPIs set by the Hospital) and ensure delivery of high-quality patient care.You will hold strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, including high analytical and report writing skills. You will have strong critical thinking skills, including experience using data to analyse performance and resolve issues. Management and senior leadership experience with knowledge of contemporary computer information systems, including experience using Microsoft Office is essential to the role.To succeed you will hold registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse, with extensive experience within the perioperative environment.
