The incumbent will have skills in developing and maintaining positive and effective relationships in a dynamic zoo environment. You will be joining an experienced leadership team of six Life Sciences Managers and the General Manager Life Sciences, who work closely together to support each other to deliver the Life Sciences and property objectives at Healesville Sanctuary. The Life Science Managers areresponsible forenabling team members to provide high quality animal care, supporting impactful visitor experiences, and creating a positive workplace culture. The Life Science Manager-Mammalsleads theMammal team, a team of keepersresponsible for the care of native Australian wildlife including Koalas, Echidnas, Kangaroos, Tree Kangaroos and a range ofnocturnal species.The successful candidate will:Have proven experience leading teams of operational staff, successfully developing and supporting individuals to achieve goalsDemonstrate a commitment to continuously improving workplace culture, including fostering a positive and inclusive work environmentHave excellent communication, interpersonal and organization skills and creative approaches to problem solvingDemonstrate prior experience ensuring safe working environment are maintained and continuously improvedHave experience developing and implementing engaging animal visitor experiencesPossess a sound knowledge of animal welfare principles, and have proven experience ensuring animal''s environments support their welfare needsFor more information on this role, please refer to the position description available via ourcareers site .At Zoos Victoria we value diversity, celebrate difference and work to be inclusive in everything we do.
