Within three months of your appointment, you will receive a mission letter co-signed by the General Directorate of Globalization (DGM), the President of the Alliance, and the Alliance French Foundation. Within six months, you will need to present a development project and an action plan for approval by the board and the embassy, covering your mission duration.Main activitiesFounded in 1890, the Alliance Franaise of Melbourne (AFM) is a vital cultural and linguistic relay for France in Victoria. It has a convention with local authorities for teacher and student training. AFM will move in June 2025 to new premises it owns, after five years in temporary locations. Key figures in 2025: 2,200 different learners (including 300 online), 3,400 registrations, 56,000 hours of courses sold; 1,400,000 / AUD 2,500,000 annual turnover; 60,000 spectators at the annual Alliance Franaise French Film Festival; nearly 9,000 participants and over 100 schools involved in the annual poetry contest, Berthe Mouchette Competition, created 130 years ago. In this context, you will need to:Develop and drive AFM''s strategy, based on the Quality Approach reference framework, in collaboration with SCAC and the boardParticipate in budget planning, personnel management, and implement analysis, monitoring, and evaluation toolsEnsure compliance with laws and regulations of VictoriaRecruit and manage AFM staff, including trainingReport to the AFM board and the Cultural and Cooperation Service (SCAC)Drive development of French courses at AFM, including curriculum, team management, certification promotion, and marketingDevelop and implement cultural strategies with the Culture and Events team, engaging students and the local and expatriate communityOrganize the French Film Festival for VictoriaEnhance AFM''s economic model and ensure profitabilityExpand the media library and resourcesIncrease visibility and improve AFM''s imageStrengthen relations with authorities and local partners (education departments, cultural organizations, French community)Seek funding and raise funds from public and private donorsFoster collaboration within the network of 29 Australian Alliances Franaises, especially among the four in VictoriaRecommended qualifications or professional experienceMaster''s degree or equivalent.
