This role requires in-depth technical knowledge of aircraft systems, strong leadership skills, and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.Key AccountabilityMonitor the status of the airline''s fleet to ensure all aircraft are in airworthy condition. Coordinate with flight operations to manage aircraft scheduling and maintenance requirements. Provide real-time technical support and troubleshooting guidance to resolve in-flight and on-ground issues.Liaise with maintenance contractors to ensure timely and efficient execution of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. Review and approve maintenance work orders, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards. Ensure all maintenance activities are documented accurately and comply with the airline''s maintenance program and regulatory requirements.Provide technical direction and support to maintenance teams and contractors. Assess and analyze technical issues, implementing corrective actions and preventive measures.Lead the response to aircraft on-ground (AOG) situations and other maintenance-related emergencies. Develop and maintain contingency plans for various operational scenarios.Ensure all maintenance operations adhere to safety regulations and industry standards. Conduct audits and inspections of maintenance activities to ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies.Maintain effective communication with flight operations, maintenance teams, and other stakeholders. Prepare and present reports on fleet status, maintenance activities, and operational performance. Participate in regular meetings and briefings to discuss operational issues and strategic planning.Mentor and train junior engineers and maintenance staff.
