The position is responsible for managing data from sentinel systems such as FluCAN and linking it with state and national databases to monitor infection trends, severity and the effectiveness of interventions. By producing timely reports and dashboards, this role supports the delivery of critical insights for public health and clinical decision-making.As part of the Monash Infectious Diseases group, this position contributes to clinical research through expert epidemiological advice and in-depth analysis of complex health data. The role supports both independent and team-based research activities, including the development of manuscripts, conference presentations and funding proposals. It also involves supervising research support staff and mentoring junior academic colleagues, helping to foster a collaborative and high-performing research environment.A doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent research experience is essential for this role. The position also requires strong skills in statistical analysis and experience working with administrative and linked datasets, supported by a solid track record of peer-reviewed publications.
