1 day ago Be among the first 25 applicantsWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will provide financial and administrative support to theQueensland Catholic Education Commission (QCEC)Secretariat, assist with data collection and government accountability reporting and support in the operation of accounting system and financial best practice processes.About UsQECE is a 15-member body established by the Catholic Archbishop of Brisbane and the Bishops of Cairns, Townsville, Rockhampton and Toowoomba to support and advance Catholic education in Queensland.The role of QCEC is essentially strategic and a partnership with the five Diocesan and seventeen other Catholic school authorities that administer and manage schools across the state. QCEC is the peak body for Catholic education in Queensland and is the entity recognised by governments for the purpose of funding.Finance Officer Key Activities:Carrying out accounts payable and accounts receivable functions including supplier invoice processing and payments, travel claims, program payments, school levies, coding and banking.Administering reconciliation of credit card statements, bank statements and other charge accounts.Preparing the fortnightly payroll function including relevant wages and superannuation.Assisting with data collection and government accountability.Assisting with the preparation of month end and taxation reconciliations.Providing secretarial and administrative support to help with grant processing.Supporting in the operation of the accounting system and financial best practice process.Processing transactions in relation to superannuation, deductions, salary packaging and provide relevant information to external parties in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.Assisting QCEC employees by providing customer service, advice and support on matters relating to Employee portal including timesheet and leave enquiries, new starter set up and training, wage and salary enquiries and deductions.Ensuring routine administrative tasks relevant to the role, such as filing, is kept up to date.Selection CriteriaCommitment to the vision, mission and values of QCEC.Certificate or degree level qualification in accounting or related field.Experience in payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and other general accounting functions.Sound numeracy skills, attention to detail and accuracy.Experience with TechnologyOne or similar ERP systems.Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.Proficiency in Office 365 suite of products particularly Microsoft Excel.Excellent time management and prioritisation skills with the ability to multi-task and work under pressure.Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to liaise positively and effectively with a wide range of stakeholders including Secretariat staff, Commission/Committee members, Catholic Schooling Authorities and external organisations.How to ApplyIf you are passionate about making a difference in Catholic education and meet the above criteria, we would love to hear from you.The position description and selection criteria are available on our website: are invited to submit a resume and a cover letter addressing the above selection criteria.If you have any questions about the position, please contact Cyrus Li atcyrusl@qcec.catholic.edu.auPlease note that interviews will be conducted in person in Brisbane and may commence before the application deadline if suitable candidates are identified.Applications close at4.00pm on Wednesday 11 June 2025.QCEC is committed to achieving a diverse workforce and encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.How will QCEC use the personal information you provide?
