Executive Assistant to the CEO and MayorType: TemporaryPost Date: Wed Jul 23 01:43:02 2025Ref: BBBH5019Executive Assistant - YarrabahGovernment DepartmentTemporary ContractStart Early AugustAbout the RoleWe are seeking a highly professional and proactive Executive Assistant (EA) to support the Chief Executive Officer and Mayor with high-level executive, secretarial and administrative assistance. This pivotal role serves as the main point of contact for the Office of the CEO and Mayor, requiring strong interpersonal skills, political acumen, and the ability to operate with discretion and professionalism in a dynamic and often sensitive environment.The EA will be responsible for ensuring the CEO and Mayors time is optimised through effective scheduling, prioritisation of requests, and support in all aspects.Working Hours:Monday Thursday: 8:00am 12:00pm & 12:45pm 4:45pmFriday: 8:00am 12:15pmPlease note: If you reside in Cairns, you will need to be willing and able to commute under an hour each day to reach the Client site.Key Responsibilities:Be the first point of contact for the CEO and Mayor; redirect and manage enquiries as neededManage diaries, schedule appointments, and coordinate travel and accommodationPrepare agendas and take minutes for Council meetings using InfocouncilDistribute Council documents and ensure legislative compliance with document handlingSupport administrative functions across governance, councillor services, grants, and land managementEnsure procurement processes and credit card usage meet policy standardsSupport communications related to strategic initiatives, community engagement, and advocacyMaintain strict confidentiality and professional conduct at all timesAbout YouAt least 5 years experience in an executive support roleHigh-level computer skills, particularly in Microsoft OfficeCurrent open Queensland Drivers LicenseExceptional interpersonal and time management skillsDemonstrated ability to draft high-quality written correspondenceProven discretion and ability to work with sensitive informationStrong research and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to build and manage relationships across all levels of an organisationCustomer-focused with a commitment to service delivery excellenceUnderstanding of local, state, and federal government operationsAbility to quickly summarise complex information from verbal and written sourceAbout PrecruitmentWith offices in Cairns and Townsville, Precruitment is Regional Queenslands leading recruitment consultancy.
