The Team: The Budget Development and Advice Team plays a key role in supporting the Department of Healths financial management and strategic planning. The team: Leads the development of the Departments budget, ensuring alignment with government priorities and internal planning frameworks. Provides consolidated financial reporting and analysis to the Executive, offering insights into the Agencys overall financial position. Supports corporate and policy areas by delivering financial advice and analytical support to inform decision-making and resource allocation. The Role: In conjunction with the relevant Manager and other members of the Budget and Finance team: Assist with the development and allocation of budgets; provide advice and assistance to senior management through the budget cycle; and monitor and report on financial performance throughout the financial year. Support senior members of the Budget and Finance team to identify improvements in resource management within the Department of Health (the Agency), including investigation, analysis, and monitoring of strategies for improving budget control, achieving budget outcomes, and taxation and superannuation compliance. Provide advice, analysis, and research related to budget, financial management, taxation, and financial reporting processes of the Agency. You will need to: Under the direction of the Manager Budget Development and Advice, provide advice to the Chief Financial Officer and other staff regarding the development, monitoring, and reporting of the Agencys budget and tax obligations. Undertake projects to review Business Unit budget allocations and other research and analysis related to taxation, superannuation, and budgetary matters, including strategies to improve efficiency, compliance processes, and streamline business processes within the Agency. Assist in implementing changes in financial monitoring, reporting, and budgeting in relation to current reforms in health and human services, and developments in the delivery of acute care, primary health care, community care, and other services in Australia and other jurisdictions.
