Working on one of our long-term Defence contracts, you will perform all trade related tasks associated with the maintenance and repair of vehicles, plant, and equipment. There will also be a requirement to assist in maintenance and storeroom tasks as required. The role is a permanent full-time opportunity located within our Moorebank NSW defence base, includes free onsite parking, a dynamic team environment, work-life balance, and attractive hours 7:00am - 3:45pm, Monday - Thursday and 7:00am - 12:00pm (noon) on Fridays.Exciting new and improved rates!Permanent position, long standing client contractoffering great job stabilityExcellent work/life balance with the ability to elect for paid overtimeWork on an exciting range of Defence equipment fleetsGenuine career development opportunities and progression across VentiaSupportive management and positive team environmentKey responsibilities:Assist in managing tools and equipment within the Supply Customer Account/s on the Commonwealth Mandated Information System and on Asset RegistersConducting maintenance tasks within the applicable competencies, under the supervision of a tradespersonContributing to collaborative innovation by identifying continuous improvement initiativesOperating plant and machinery as required and provided by the Commonwealth to perform maintenance tasksPerforming additional work-related responsibilities as directed by the Team Leader, such as first aid attendant, HSE committee representative, unit fire team representative, and/or member of a business improvement teamOperate plant and equipment where qualified and licensedMaintain work area in a neat and orderly mannerPerform manual tasks associated with maintenance and construction as required, including safe working dutiesUndertake, as instructed by your Team Leader, other tasks which may be incidental & peripheral to your tradeCould you be our next Trade Assistant?Experience in technical related work, preferably part qualified (3rd/4th year apprentice suitable) in a Certificate of trade Proficiency, relevant to the trade environment - Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or Plant MechanicHold a valid Forklift LicenseDemonstrated experience in manual handlingPossess a current Australian State or territory class C Drivers LicencePossess a current State open drivers licence for medium Rigid (MR) classes of vehiclesTyre fitting experience is advantageousThe incumbent to this role must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance up to the level of Negative Vetting Level 1.
