At ALS, we encourage you to dream big.When you join us, youll be part of a global team harnessing the power of scientific testing and data-driven insights to build a healthier future.The roleALS Geochemistry at our Kalgoorlie facility is looking for someone who is eager to progress their career in a Sample Preparer Supervisor role.This is a full-time position with the expectation that the successful candidate will be available to work a rotating roster of 4 day shifts, 4 night shifts, followed by 4 days off (10-hour shifts / day).Training will be provided for the right candidate.This is a residential role, and you must be residing in or planning to relocate to the Kalgoorlie Boulder Region with current Australian work rights to be considered.The day to dayThe role involves, but is not limited to the following tasks:Supervise Sample Prep staffRegularly liaise with other section supervisors and managementManage staff issues, including morale and performance managementEnsuring section KPI''s are reached and maintainedMonitor, inspect and review work to ensure deadlines are met and quality standards are achievedMaintain acceptable TATMinimizes breakages and wastageTraining and technical development of section staffOptimizing shift hours within the sample prep sectionEnsure the quality of the section is maintainedEnsure staff adhere to all ALS HSE policies and proceduresThe EssentialsThis is a challenging position in which a high degree of organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail are essential.Your ability to manage staff and deal quickly, efficiently and fairly with issues in a high volume and dynamic environment will ensure your success in this role.To be successful, you will have or be able to demonstrate:An understanding of the sample preparation processExperience in the lab industryAn exceptional work ethic.Strong interpersonal skills.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Computer literate.Good time management and organizational abilities.An understanding of ALS QC principles.Working at ALSThe ALS team is a diverse and dedicated community united by our passion to make a difference in the world.Our values are important to us, and shape how we work, how we treat each other and how we recognise excellence.At ALS, youll be supported to develop new skills and reach your full potential.
