The RoleAdbri Cement has an exciting opportunity in our NATA-accredited laboratory division for an enthusiastic candidate eager to upskill and try something new, based at our Cement Plant in Birkenhead, SA!This permanent, full-time position does not require prior experience, qualifications, or a degreejust an enthusiastic attitude and a desire to learn compliance testing of construction materials related to cement manufacturing.The role requires availability from Monday to Friday with a rotating weekend roster, including some Saturdays from 7 am to 11 am at overtime rates.Note: This role involves physical movement and lifting.What you will doPrepare samples for testing through riffling, drying, crushing, grinding, weighing, and registering all samples in the Laboratory Data Management System.Conduct mortar testing, including casting prisms, testing strength, shrinkage, sulfate resistance, temperature rise, setting time, and soundness of cement, fly ash, slag, and lime materials.Make and test concrete according to Australian standards, assessing strength, shrinkage, setting times, bleed, air content, and mass per unit volume.Perform chemical testing on various materials to analyze chemical characteristics.ResponsibilitiesProvide accurate testing results promptly, meeting customer expectations.Build effective positive working relationships within a close-knit team.Follow procedures and work systematically and safely.Use initiative to suggest improvements and provide recommendations.What you will needNo experience or degree required; however, previous laboratory experience is highly regarded.Pass a medical, including drug and alcohol testing.Clear a National Police check.Commitment to safety, quality, and environmental standards.Strong communication skills.Ability to work independently and in a team.Good literacy and computer skills.Ability to apply initiative.Benefits of working with usStructured onboarding process.Forklift license opportunity.Employee benefits, including discounts and perks that enhance your career and personal life.Join us for a structured onboarding experience and the chance to gain valuable experience in a leading Australian construction materials laboratory with potential for career growth.About our businessAdbri Cement, formerly Adelaide Brighton Cement founded in 1882, is a leading local manufacturer of cement, lime, and pre-packaged dry blended products, supporting South Australia''s infrastructure and development.Our commitment to safety and diversityWe prioritize safety and recognize that diversity fosters innovation and creativity.
