More about the program: the OPPORTUNITY:We have an exciting opportunity for a Hotel Services Technician (Electrical) to join the Test & Commissioning (T&C) team on the Hunter Class Frigate Program (HCFP) on a permanent full-time basis. Based at our Osborne Shipyard in Adelaide, youll contribute to the delivery of cutting-edge naval capability by supporting the Set to Work (STW), testing, commissioning, and maintenance of Hotel Services Electrical systems. These include fixed firefighting systems, general fluid systems, and HVAC&R systems being installed.Working under the guidance of the Hotel Services Lead Technician, youll collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure all systems are tested, documented, and ready for integration. Youll also support the development of STW, SOPs, and risk documentation to ensure safe and efficient commissioning activities.We offer flexible work options including the ability to work from home two days a week and a 9-day fortnight to help you balance work and life. Domestic mobility support is available for the right candidate.Key RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform STW, testing, commissioning and maintenance of Hotel Services Electrical systemsCollaborate with the Lead Technician to plan and deliver commissioning activitiesDevelop and review key documentation, including specifications, test procedures, maintenance instructions, and engineering reports.Collaborate with Operations, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure testing aligns with robust engineering solutions.Diagnose faults and solve technical issues.Work with contracted suppliers and assist with pre-commissioning activities.Ensure all work is compliant with WHS legislation and BAE Systems SHE policiesAssist the Verification & Acceptance team with inspection and acceptance activitiesPromote safety, continuous improvement, and technical excellence within the teamAbout YOU:3-5 years of T&C experience working with electrical systemsExperience with fixed firefighting systems and general fluid systemsDemonstrated experience writing STW procedures, risk assessments, and SOPsMinimum Certificate III in Engineering Electrical (or higher)Direct experience with commissioning, testing, and verification activitiesExperience with computer-based commissioning systemsWorking knowledge of HVAC&R systemsStrong planning and coordination skills to manage task prioritiesProfessional, technically sharp and ability work independentlyWe believe in hiring for potential, we know that some candidates hesitate if they dont tick all the boxes.
