We empower individuals to make positive life choices and provide culturally competent care, particularly for First Nations people.The OpportunityDASA is seeking a part-time (0.8 FTE) Assessment Worker based in Alice Springs, NT. This crucial role is responsible for conducting client assessments, managing the intake process, and ensuring individuals receive the support they need to engage with DASAs rehabilitation programs.Your key responsibilities include:Conducting culturally safe, face-to-face, and phone-based client assessmentsManaging intake emails and responding to referrals within set timeframesCollaborating with internal teams and external service providers to facilitate program admissionsCreating and maintaining accurate client records using the Mimaso databaseCoordinating Centrelink enrolments and monitoring financial obligations for residentsProviding brief intervention support as part of the assessment processUpholding DASA policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiativesAbout YouTo thrive in this role, you will have:Experience in conducting assessments or intake processes in a similar fieldExceptional communication skills and the ability to work with diverse clientsStrong organisational and time management skillsHigh-level computer literacy and database management experienceThe ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standardsA collaborative mindset to work effectively within a small assessment teamAdditionally, the following qualifications and experience will be highly regarded:Cert IV in Community Services (Alcohol & Other Drugs) Highly DesirableFamiliarity with screening and assessment toolsKnowledge of the Mimaso client database or similar systemsUnderstanding of trauma-informed care principlesAbout the BenefitsWhen you join DASA, you will be part of a dedicated team committed to rehabilitation and community impact.
