This is a great opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a well-established mine as part of a revitalised operation under new leadership.About the Role:Reporting to theSenior Strategic Planning Engineer, the Medium-Term Planning Engineer plays a critical role in driving and influencing the mine plan to achieve the operations medium to long term targets.This is asite-based position on an 8:6 FIFO or DIDO roster, ideal for a results-driven professional with strong underground mining, planning & scheduling experience.Key Responsibilities:Manage and produce the 3 monthly rolling schedules & 12-month forecasts in line with the annual budget requirements and escalate appropriately where risks to the plan arise.Effectively communicate the 3MRS & 12 month rolling forecasts to key site stakeholders and leadership team on a fortnightly basisWork within a 336-month timeframe to develop considered, optimised and practical medium-term designs for development (Operational and Capital) and stopes.Provide guidance to the short-term scheduling team where required, to ensure that the weekly plan is aligned to the 3MRS and moreover, the yearly budget.Liaise with mining superintendents, senior engineers, and other Tech services engineers to ensure that development and stope designs are optimised and practical.Liaise with the long-term planning engineer to ensure design work aligns with the LOA and that reserve information is accurately maintained.About You:Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or related field.5+ years underground hard rock experience in mine design/planning and schedulingDemonstrated ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with operational and contractor teams.Experience using mine planning software - Deswik Sched & CAD.Flexible and capable of adapting to a dynamic work environment.What We Offer:Competitive salary with performance-based incentives8:6 FIFO or DIDO roster from major hubs (residential option also available)A key role in the Technical Services Team at a long-life operation with strong backingCareer growth opportunities with a progressive and values-driven companyA collaborative and results-oriented site cultureShortlisting will occur throughout the advertising period apply now.Unlock job insightsSalary match Number of applicants Skills matchYour application will include the following questions:Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia? It is operated by Cobar Management Pty Ltd (CMPL) owned by Glencore.The mine initially started in 1871 with an erratic production history until 1964, when Broken Hill South Ltd began large scale production. The mine passed to CRA in 1980 and then to Golden Shamrock Mines in 1992. The mine was closed in 1997/8 following its acquisition by Ashanti Goldfields and was reopened in 1999 by Glencore.Since 1965 the mine has extracted substantial quantities of zinc, lead, silver and copper, but today, CSA Mine focuses on mining copper, with a silver co-product.Our underground mine produces over 1.1 million tonnes of copper ore and produces in excess of 185,000 tonnes of copper concentrate per annum.
