Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal ofenabling human life on Mars.CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT (GIGABAY) - NIGHT SHIFTAs a critical member of the Starship Infrastructure team, you will supervise and lead a group of laborers and contractors to enable the build and activation of infrastructure for a variety of projects.RESPONSIBILITIES:Oversee and own the day-to-day site management of a fast-paced, high impact construction project including the responsibilities below:Manage a team dedicated to construction site logistics/operations, including work schedules, project progress, and resource allocationPlan, implement, and enforce construction site logistics to enable broader project goals and scheduleManage SpaceX construction assets (trailers, portas, rental equipment, etc.)Implement and enforce SpaceX safety policies. Drive the safety culture on the jobsite through contractor and internal partnersDaily field coordination and conflict resolution for contractors and internal partnersManage site logistics, including daily deliveries, offloading, inventory, storage, and staging of SpaceX purchased materialsResponsible for jobsite cleanlinessMaintain, implement, and iterate SpaceX provided construction barricades as neededMaintain jobsite SWPP and enforce compliance with local, state, and federal regulationsCreate, enforce, and iterate on schedules for workers and subcontractors in conjunction with engineering and project management teamMaintain a daily log for the job site''s operations, reporting to management as necessaryOversee the procurement and execution of specific construction projects as delegated by the engineering & project management teamProvide budgetary costs based upon the preliminary scope of the projectGather proposals from contractors; assign contracts upon receipt of all proposalsDevelop the final cost and schedule for the sub-project, and implement controls as needed to manage cost, schedule and scopeCoordinate project implementation and track project statusCoordinate with end user and facilities team for building operations and maintenanceManage night shift contractors as project work requiresMake changes in the operation as necessary to best meet construction deadlines, triage issues to engineering & project management team as necessary to ensure schedule and quality are adequateBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or equivalency certificate3+ years of professional experience in the construction industry with experience leading a construction labor forcePREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Field experience in a technical field or in managing a multi-discipline team of contractors/laborersPrevious experience with project management and scheduling softwareBasic proficiency with AutoCADKnowledge of processes of jurisdictional permitting and/or environmental agenciesUnderstanding of multiple disciplines such as civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, piping, geotechnical, and surveyingExperience with project management of construction projects including estimating, cost control, schedule, and contractor managementExperience reading, reviewing, and approving shop and fabrication drawingsAbility to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while maintaining a high sense of urgency in a high-paced, challenging work environmentAbility to work independently and in a team, take initiative, and communicate effectivelyADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as neededMust be able to work the shift requirements: Night Shift (5pm-5am)Ability to work at elevated heights (200+ feet)Physical effort with lifting and carrying materials or equipment (up to 25 lbs.)Typically exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments - heat, cold, rainWork performed in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noiseMust be available to work extended hours and weekends when needed based on site operational needs; flexibility requiredValid driver''s licenseOccasional travel may be required to support vehicle operations at production and launch sitesITAR REQUIREMENTS:To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. * 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. * 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
