We foster meaningful careers through high-quality education across our campuses in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide.About the roleThis is an exciting opportunity for a Discipline Lead to join our team and spearhead the design, development, and establishment of new Information Technology (IT) and Information Systems (IS) courses. This pivotal role requires academic leadership and IT expertise, with a strong focus on curriculum development that aligns with our mission and goals.You''ll be responsible for developing cutting-edge curriculum, preparing all necessary course accreditation documentation, and building a high-performing lecturing team committed to academic excellence. Cultivating a collaborative culture within the discipline will be key. Additionally, this role provides essential administrative and coordination support to the Dean and involves fostering strong relationships with all stakeholders to ensure seamless operations. The Discipline Lead also serves as a valued member of the Course Advisory Committee.We are open to discuss this role as permanent or a fixed term role (24 months), with a minimum of 0.6 FTE (3 days) per weekKey ResponsibilitiesCourse Development and AccreditationManage the development and design of courses with their respective discipline area, including associated aspects of the learning management systemDevelop industry relevant teaching and learning strategies that promote employability outcomesSupport the preparation of documentation associated with course and professional body accreditationConduct appropriate benchmarking to ensure quality and currency of courses and assessmentsManage the design, development and maintenance of learning resources (including for blended and online delivery as relevant) and facilities for courses to ensure adequacy and appropriateness, and currency.Identify, select and recruit appropriately qualified academic staff for the delivery of subjectsEnsure compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks, standards, and requirements across all aspects of coursesActively engage with marketing and student recruitment staff to facilitate a clear understanding and communication of course requirements and outcomesSit on Course Advisory Committees in relation to the development of IT coursesLead the development of new courses including businesses cases, course outcomes, course structure, subject outlines, and accreditation submissions; andParticipate in planning and launch activities in relation to new courses.Industry EngagementEngage with industry and professional bodies to maintain currency and relevance of courses and pedagogyEstablish and maintain memberships, links and partnerships with academic, industry and professional communitiesEducation, experience and skillsA PhD in a directly related discipline or fieldBroad and in-depth knowledge of the IT or IS disciplinesKnowledge of contemporary developments in the discipline or field, informed by continuing scholarship and/or practiceSkills in contemporary teaching, learning and assessment principles specific to the discipline or fieldExperience in developing, leading, and managing high performance teamsExperience in course development and accreditation of course curriculumDemonstrated understanding of requirements associated with regulatory frameworks, especially the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2021.Why Join us?A supportive team - When you work with us, youre not just a team memberyour part of a supportive community that lifts each other up, values every contribution, and thrives on mutual respect.Career progression?- Here, youll find an environment where your ideas matter, your growth is prioritized, and youre empowered to do your best workbecause when we succeed, we do it togetherA positive and fun work environment- Work should be more than just a jobit should be an experience you enjoy!Daily breakfast supplied - We believe that a positive and fun work environment starts with the little things, and whats better than breakfast?Training and Development opportunities - Professional development allowance available to invest in your future & help you stay at the forefront of your fieldDiversity & Inclusion - We celebrate diversity and are committed to reflecting Australian society to better serve our students.
