Bendigo Rail Workshops (BRW) is a rail maintenance facility located in Bendigo, Victoria. BRW performs maintenance work for some of the largest rail companies in Australia. BRW specialises in rail rolling stock: Maintenance and Upgrades Accident Repairs Full Strip-Down and Overhaul Painting Field Services and Provisioning Emergency Recovery Due to continuous growth, BRW is looking to recruit a Financial Accountant to join our friendly team on a full-time basis. As a Financial Accountant, you will be a detail-driven and forward-thinking professional who will maintain the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of our financial records and systems. In this key role, you''ll ensure accurate, compliant financial data and reporting, strengthening transparency and enhancing financial performance. Duties involved, but not limited to: Preparation of Financial Reports Provide reporting on KPIs, variances, and changes in the financial reports as well as recommendations for causes and improvements Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting obligations Assist with CAPEX management functions and reporting Assist with FBT management functions and reporting AP/AR functions as required Compliance functions as required Prepare accruals and journals as required Review prepared financial statements Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures Other ad-hoc finance duties as required The successful applicant must demonstrate the following: Prior experience in a similar role required Sound knowledge of accounting principles, including month-end and year-end processes Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and financial legislation Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline Membership of a recognised professional accounting body (e.g., CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand) highly regarded Previous experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with the ability to meet tight deadlines Solid communication skills, a can-do attitude, and high attention to detail Professional and reliable work ethic Friendly, approachable personality who enjoys being part of a close-knit supportive team Current National Police Check or willingness to obtain one Please submit your application, including resume and covering letter addressing the key requirements via Seek.
