Join us and unearth your potential in a global company that is at the forefront of shaping the future of the mining industry.We are seeking for a highly motivated open pit Geotechnical Engineer who is ready to advance their career to the next stage with a focus on instrumentation and monitoring. The successful candidate will join our Projects team and report to the Geotechnical Projects Supervisor. This role is being offered on a family friendly 5:2, 4:3 DIDO roster.About the role:The Geotechnical Engineer (I&M) will support the geotechnical team and mining operations in both short-term and medium-term capacities. The primary responsibilities of this role include the design, implementation, maintenance, analysis, and reporting of geotechnical monitoring systems and data. Additionally, this position provides an opportunity to engage in interesting project-related work.In This Role You Will:Implement and maintain existing geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring systems including ground based radars, prisms, VWPs, extensometers and microseismic.Maintain and improve our risk-based monitoring plan.Analyse monitoring data and slope performance to effectively communicate potential geotechnical hazards to site personnel, including providing regular reporting.Assist with project related work as required.About you:Tertiary Qualification specialising in geomechanics.Good communication skillsMinimum 2 years of operational experience in an open-cut mining environment .Extensive experience interpreting slope stability monitoring data, in particular ground-based radar and prisms.Experience using Rocscience Software suite, Gem4D and Leapfrog desirable.Possess a valid manual drivers license.Applications will close 12th August however candidates may be shortlisted prior to this date.We understand no candidate will meet every single desired qualification.
