In this role, you will be responsible for enforcing animal-related legislation, promoting responsible pet ownership, and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of animals and the community.You will play a key role in providing a range of services and controls enabled and required by governing legislation that align with this commitment and in particular carry out Councils regulatory functions for various Acts for which the incumbent is authorised and detect breaches as appropriate.The position involves direct animal handling and investigations into animal management issues in the community. You will:Communicate and enforce requirements of the relevant legislationPromote responsible pet ownership within the communityEnsure confidentiality of all information/records generated by the activities of the section.If you are proactive, compassionate, and ready to grow your skills in animal care, we would love to hear from you!EssentialQualifications and experienceRelevant Local Government experience in a similar capacityProvision of a wide range of skills applicable to the positionCurrent class C driver''s licenceClearance of National Police Check.DesirableCertificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services)Sound knowledge and experience managing animal issues in the urban environmentKnowledge of relevant issues and applicable legislation/regulationsComputer literate with proficiency in the use of Microsoft products such as Word and ExcelDemonstrated ability to schedule and coordinate own work activitiesDemonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.Remuneration And BenefitsThe salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Councils Enterprise Agreement.Entry level for this position starts at $1,408.84 per week38-hour working weekRostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnightEmployee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 12% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.Our commitment to safetyBlacktown City Council is committed to safety.
