This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your advanced financial, reporting, and analytical expertise in a meaningful 6-month contract with one of the states most vital departments.We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant (ASO8) to join a dynamic finance and reporting team supporting critical operational and project-driven outcomes. This role will provide financial insight, ensure compliance with SA Government accounting requirements, and support high-level decision-making.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.Oversee financial statements and ensure compliance with audit and legislative requirements.Deliver accurate and insightful project financial reporting for key department initiatives.Support end-of-month and end-of-year accounting processes and reconciliations.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver clear, data-driven reporting and analysis.Ensure compliance with Treasurers Instructions, Accounting Policy Statements, and relevant standards.Provide high-level financial advice to senior executives on budget forecasting and variance analysis.Assist in the coordination of external audits and support audit preparedness.Key Skills And ExperienceProven experience in senior accounting roles within the SA Government.In-depth knowledge of SA Government financial frameworks, systems, and reporting requirements.Strong experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply public sector accounting standards.Highly proficient in analytical reporting, budget management, and financial forecasting.Previous experience in financial reporting for high-profile public sector projects is highly desirable.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across departments.Whats On Offer6-month full-time contract within a top-tier public sector organisation.High-impact role contributing to major financial and project outcomes.Central Adelaide location with hybrid flexibility possible.Collaborative and professional team environment.If you''re ready to make an immediate impact and bring your public sector financial expertise to a rewarding project, we want to hear from you.Contact Karl at Randstad karl.beswick@randstad.com.auAt Randstad, we are passionate about providing equal employment opportunities and embracing diversity to the benefit of all.
