Visit our website or YouTube channel to learn more.The RoleLead the commercial coordination of TasWaters capital works program, focusing on high-profile, complex projects. Youll oversee cost estimation and Target Outturn Cost (TOC) development, negotiation, and management in collaboration with Project Directors and Managers. Your role will drive commercial performance, cost management, risk-sharing outcomes, and value delivery through strategic partner engagement and robust contractual frameworks.Work closely with the Project Delivery Major and Medium Project teams to ensure alignment with the strategic and commercial approach to the delivery of the Capital Delivery Program.Lead the development, negotiation, and management of major and medium project cost estimates and Target Outturn Costs (TOCs) for complex, high-risk capital projects in alignment with the procurement strategy.Manage and deliver the development of TOC and non-TOC pricing schedules for individual work packages, including leading a client engaged and involved challenge and review process to drive value for money outcomes and the delivery of innovation and efficiency in the program.Work collaboratively with both senior managers and staff across TasWater to develop, guide and implement strategies that achieve consistent and appropriate standards of cost management and contract management.Provide leadership and input to the strategic cost management of the Captial Works Program.Provide specialist project cost estimation and project cost management advice to Project Delivery staff and senior managementSupport Project Delivery Project Managers by reviewing and advising options on contract cost options, overall cost management risks, and negotiating TOC prices.Establish and maintain Project Delivery processes relating to cost management and advice regarding best practice cost estimating to facilitate value for money outcomes.Manage, lead, inspire, coach and motivate the Cost Estimation Team to foster a high-performing, collaborative, and results-driven culture.Drive commercial performance and risk-sharing outcomes through effective partner collaboration and contract management.For a full copy of the position description, please click HEREWhat we''re looking forWere seeking a commercially astute professional with deep experience in infrastructure delivery and contract management. Youll bring a strong understanding of Target-Outturn-Cost (TOC) arrangements and other innovative contracting models, along with the ability to lead complex projects within the environmental, social, legislative, and financial frameworks that shape the Australian water industry.Experience in negotiating, developing, and overseeing the successful delivery of Target-Outturn-Cost (TOC) commercial arrangements and other similar contemporary and collaborative contracting approachesPossession of appropriate Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Planning or Project Management Degree qualification within the construction and infrastructure industry working on major and medium projects.Demonstrated understanding of, and ability to apply, the environmental, social, legislative, and financial policy frameworks that guide TasWater and the broader Australian water industry.Experience managing medium, innovative and major infrastructure projects.Highest level interpersonal and written communication skills, including an ability to engage, consult, negotiate and work effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and to present written and spoken information that is clear, concise, accurate and understandable to a variety of audiences.Strong high-level strategic, conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to identify, develop and implement innovative solutions in an outsourced environment.Why TasWaterAcross our multi-disciplinary organisation, we are serious about enhancing the skills and careers of our team members.
