When you join our Team, you will have the opportunity to contribute and make an impact every single day.This role is based in our Melbourne office with Hybrid working arrangement.Role PurposeThe RoleSolution Architecture - Leads the design and development of software/data solution for an Energy Retailer covering Retail, Risk, Trading and Finance functionsPeople & Project Leadership - leads a team of 4 developers, designing, estimating and developing solutions for projectsTechnology Leadership Provides technology leadership on Azure, identifies new technologies, engages across the Smartest group, and cloud computing costsKey Responsibilities:Leads the design and development of software/data solution for each functional domain in the business:Retail - Progressive Purchasing, Demand Response, integration with Tally Billing and bespoke Pricing solutionsRisk - Price forecasting, Price Curves, Credit management, Green Certificate, VaR, StoplossTrading Pricing of Retail contracts, position reporting for electricity and certificatesFinance Contract valuations, Workday integrationMarket Interfaces - integrations to external parties (AEMO, Meter Data Agents) for meter data capture and market data (AEMO MMS & MSATS)Leads a growing team, currently 4 developers, based in Melbourne including interviewing, hiring, training, mentoring, and performance management.Participates in projects, attends Steering Committees, accountable for design, development estimates, developer adherence to timelines, code qualityAs a member of the global architecture forum engages with across UK and USA ensuring solutions align to global standardsManages team capacity across multiple projects, small changes and production supportBuilds relationships and works with external suppliers / consultancies / recruiters to deliver projects and / or augment capacity as appropriateBuild effective relations to VP levelsTechnology LeadershipProvides technology leadership on Azure with key strengths inSystem integration & data flow orchestrationData and Software enterprise architectureIdentifies new technologies, product enhancements, product market places and identifies opportunities for implementation at Smartest includingData warehousing Azure Synapse, Fabric, PowerBiWorkforce Productivity - GenAi / CopIlotRetail Billing - TallyERP - Workday and Workday Marketplace.ETRM - Energy One TradingEngages across the Smartest group ensuring adherence to group standards by participating in the group architecture forumIdentifies and proactively manages technical debt by effectively balancing project needs to go live while ensuring any tech debt is resolved as part of the project.
