We serve farriers and horse owners worldwide with a complete line of hoofcare products designed to perform.Position OverviewThe Maintenance Lead supports the Maintenance Supervisor and department in ensuring facilities systems and equipment installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair for horseshoe manufacturing and distribution operations. This position also supports the maintenance department with planning activities related to the preventive maintenance program, assists with support for the spare part purchasing process, oversees spare part inventory, and operates the CMMS software M-Pulse. The maintenance lead demonstrates Mustad values, showing respect for and engagement with co-workers, especially as they contribute to quality products and organizationalEssential Job Functions (required duties and responsibilities)To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Assists the Maintenance Supervisor in leading a team of technicians with the installation, maintenance, and repairs of facility equipment and systems, as well as maintaining buildings and grounds, following all safety protocols and SOP regulations and procedures, including the Mustad Performance System (MPS).Assists with training, coaching, and monitoring of technicians, as well as supporting the production team in providing feedback for process improvement, failure analysis, and problem resolution.Ensure all hazardous materials are properly labelled, stored, and handled properly and that all Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are maintained and updated for facilities as required.Plan activities related to the preventive maintenance program, support the spare part purchasing process, oversee spare part inventory, and operate the CMMS software M-Pulse for gathering all maintenance activities. Is responsible for scheduling and oversight of preventative maintenance on an established schedule and provides documentation as needed.Performs preventative maintenance on an established schedule, including testing on energized electrical equipment.Conduct failure analysis to develop and lead improvement activities and projects across manufacturing and distribution functions.Fills in for Maintenance Supervisor in their absence.Performs other duties as requested by management.Education, Experience, and Skills RequirementsTraining and/or certification in electrical, mechanical, PLC, robotics, or other related fields.5+ years of general maintenance experience, including troubleshooting and correcting problems with electrical, hydraulics, pumps and motors, control circuits, and power supply, may be considered in lieu of formal training.2+ years in leading teamsContinuous improvement mindset with a strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and principlesComputer proficiency, including the MS Office platformAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionAbility to train and coach others, contribute as a team memberExcellent problem-solving skillsAbility to read, write, and speak EnglishDesirable Skills/Attributes ( but not required)Demonstrated skills with Programmable Logic Control (PLC) programs and Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs).Ability to troubleshoot basic input/output functionsDemonstrated proficiency with robotic operation/maintenancePhysical DemandsProlonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting at a computerAbility to frequently stoop, kneel, bend, balance, reach above shoulders, and crouchAbility for frequent use of hands to feel, handle, touch, or manipulateSpecific vision requirements for this position include close vision, distance vision, vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.Frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 75 pounds.Work EnvironmentFactory settingExposure to heat, humidity, dust fumes, gases, toxic/caustic chemicals, and airborne particlesExposure to significantly loud noiseExposure to moving mechanical parts on line, as well as moving equipment throughout the factoryMandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which the company providesInfrequent exposure to heightsMustad offers comprehensive benefits to its eligible employees, including, but not limited to medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, short-and long-term , 401(k), dependent care, and flex spending accounts.We are an Equal Opportunity Employer #J-18808-Ljbffr
