JOB PURPOSE STATEMENTThis varied and busy role involves routine and reactive repairs, as well as general maintenance of the building and its assets. As part of the Engineering department, you will assist the team responsible for our internal and external customers.RESPONSIBILITIESCarry out assigned tasks, including physical duties such as lifting and transporting furniture and equipment, climbing ladders, working in enclosed areas, and pushing trolleys.Repair and maintain electrical, mechanical, plumbing, kitchen, and heating systems and related equipment within the hotel, in coordination with the engineering leadership team.Respond promptly to internal job requests via the HOSTOS system.Inspect, repair, and log plumbing deficiencies throughout the hotel.Work from daily handover reports assigned by your manager and provide feedback upon completion.Check and maintain the efficiency of the hotels systems, plant, and equipment.Inform your manager about equipment deficiencies, stock control, and spare parts requirements.Comply with all systems, procedures, and company policies.Proactively develop your skills and participate in training.Maintain high motivation and perform at your best.Attend departmental communication meetings regularly.Complete planned training sessions.Ensure professional, efficient, and thorough communication between Engineering and other hotel departments.Respond to departmental changes as required by the hotel, Hilton, legislation, or industry trends.Maintain grooming standards in line with hotel policy.Assist with sustainability initiatives and drive projects aligned with Hiltons objectives.Perform additional duties as assigned by the Assistant Chief Engineer, Chief Engineer, or General Manager.Coordinate and assist external contractors as needed.Keep the workshop clean and organized.Perform call-out duties and other responsibilities as assigned.Work flexible, rotating shifts as required by the business.Respond directly to guest maintenance requests, prioritizing guest comfort and privacy.Adhere to departmental operating expenses as directed by your manager.WHAT IT WILL BE LIKE TO JOIN THE HILTON SYDNEY TEAMHilton is a leading global hospitality company, offering a range of lodging options from luxury hotels and resorts to extended-stay suites and mid-priced hotels.
