We know where we are going and how to get there.Find out more about our school by visiting Home - Thornlie Senior High School or Schools OnlineThe RoleThe role of Health, Safety and Wellbeing Officer at Thornlie Senior High School is a dynamic and exciting one. The successful candidate will be integral in developing wellbeing initiatives that actively promote wellness to the whole school community and aid the Executive team to identify and address psychosocial and workplace hazards at school. They will ideally provide advice to school staff on Occupational Health and Safety issues, including: undertaking investigations of workplace incidents and accidents and completing detailed reports; conducting regular audits of workplace hazards; initiating and reviewing Evacuation and Lockdown drills; being a member of the school Work, Health and Safety Committee and the Health and Wellbeing Committee; and assisting in the development and implementation of school wide safety policies, initiatives, and staff inductions.The successful applicant will be an integral member of our Student Services team, providing first aid, maintaining first aid kits and medical supplies, maintaining up-to-date medication records for students and distributing medication to those with completed paperwork.Applicants will ideally have well developed communication and interpersonal skills, proven experience and/or qualifications in Work, Health and Safety, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.Want to know more?Full details of the role, selection criteria and training requirements are listed in the attached Job Description Form (JDF).For more information about this opportunity, please contact Ms Dee Kennedy, Deputy Principal on (08) 6235 7900 or desma.kennedy@education.wa.edu.auEquity and DiversityWe are committed to an inclusive and culturally responsive workforce reflecting the diversity in our schools and the Western Australian community.
