Our bench to bedside philosophy sees us working across Mater Healths hospitals and health services, The University of Queensland, and the world-class Translational Research Institute (TRI).We are committed to working closely with Mater Health, Mater Education and our growing network of partners and collaborators to turn scientific discovery into the best possible treatment, care, and outcomes for patients and our broader community.Salary range: $51.87-$58.24 per hour plus 12% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!What youll be doingThe Research Midwife position will cover clinical and administration work across a variety of research projects within the maternity unit and will require an early start for a research project that involves collection of placental tissue in the delivery room.The Research Midwife is responsible for the day- to-day management of clinical trials/research studies. They will act as a primary coordinator for clinical trials and clinical research. They are responsible for the coordination and administration of study related activities. This position will oversee project planning, and ensures that pre-established procedure, study protocol, data collection and regulatory requirements are followed. This position will oversee recruitment and coordinate research participants as appropriate and serves as an administrative liaison for projects. They will oversee the administrative tasks and record keeping in a compliant manner. This role is critical to the successful conduct of clinical trials at Mater Research.About youThe successful candidate will possess the following knowledge, experience, or attributes:Current AHPRA midwifery/nursing registration and a bachelors degree in nursing/midwifery or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant workplace experience.A high-level of interpersonal skills necessary for negotiating and liaising effectively with a diverse range of staff, patients, and other stakeholders.Understanding of Australian Clinical trial regulatory framework and applicable guidelines such as ICH GCP as adopted by the TGA and NHRMC guidelines for clinical trialsExcellent oral and written communication skills with competent working knowledge of Microsoft suite of programs including excel, word, teams and outlookKnowledge of data collection and management systems.
