Laboratories range in size from small rural and remote facilities to a larger, more complex facility located in Royal Darwin Hospital (RDH). The Darwin laboratory though larger than its territory counterparts, also functions as a remote facility with many tests requiring referral to more specialised interstate laboratories.The Darwin laboratory provides supervision and support to the other five regional laboratories located at Alice Springs Hospital and the Hub (Palmerston Regional Hospital, Katherine Hospital, Gove District Hospital and Tennant Creek Hospital).The RoleAs a Laboratory Technician, you will work with the scientist on duty as part of our clinical laboratory team. Youll assist in performing specimen registration, receiving clinical calls, assisting with the processing of samples and maintenance of analysers which is essential in providing services to the hospital diagnostics. You will participate in a 24-hour roster with on a shift rotation including 1:3-nights.About youYou''re a technician who brings both technical skill and a collaborative mindset.
