You will be an integral player in delivering our Blueprint 100, Councils Strategic Plan for the Tamworth Region.We are looking for experienced professionals to play a vital role in partnering with fellow teams and our community to develop and deliver quality strategic planning services, as well as meaningful community engagement across the Tamworth Region.You will be an enthusiastic team player who is passionate about contributing to the regions liveability by proactively managing landuse to deliver enhanced built environment, natural environment and urban fabric in accordance with Councils strategic vision (Blueprint 100). You will have a strong understanding of the of theEnvironmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and other relevant legislations.Experience in Planning in Regional NSW will be highly regarded.The Senior Strategic Planner is responsible for:Leading complex projectsfrom concept through to delivery.Mentoring and supporting planning staff, providing guidance on project delivery, policy interpretation and professional development within the team.Managing projects effectively and efficiently including the preparation and implementation of strategic and statutory plansEngaging with the development industry, investors and the community in relation to strategic planning projects/proposalsUnderstanding the local government environment and the interface with state and federal governmentsDeveloping work priorities including responsibility for project timelines, budgets and community consultation strategiesFinancial and budgetary planning experienceThe Strategic Planner is responsible for:Managing projects effectively and efficiently including the preparation and implementation of strategic and statutory plansEngaging with the development industry, investors and the community in relation to strategic planning projects/proposalsUnderstanding the local government environment and the interface with state and federal governmentsDeveloping work priorities including responsibility for project timelines, budgets and community consultation strategiesFinancial and budgetary planning experienceTO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED4 Year Degree in Planning or related discipline,Driver LicenceExperience in the assessment and determination of planning proposals including complex and controversial strategic mattersDemonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team;Demonstrated skillset in identifying work priorities and applying time management techniques; andWell-developed verbal and written communication skills.Recent planning graduates or students are welcome to apply as well as experienced planners.INTERESTED?
